Products I Use
Without a shadow of doubt, the modifications I’ve had done to my motorhome have helped me immensely to live full-time on the road. That being said, there are many items I use in the motorhome on the daily that also make living on the road A LOT easier and as I don't gate-keep, I'm sharing them with you on this page!

As I have been full-time for 6 years now, and have a self-confessed unhealthy relationship with Amazon Prime, it’s fair to say I’ve tried and tested my fair share of products. There are so many on the market and there are always new ones popping up, its a minefield quite frankly.
I’ve wasted money on ok products that have then failed 2/3 months down the line and I've spent money on great products that have served me well. As you know, space in your motorhome or converted van is at a premium so if you're carrying gadgets around, they better work and be worth your hard earned cash. Here I share the products I've purchased and use that I'm confident to recommend.
Being totally open and honest, if while looking at my shop you find something you like and buy it, I will get a small commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you, which helps me run my YouTube channel and create all the videos!
And don’t worry like with all Amazon stuff if you buy it and it sucks, just return it. I have to tip my hat to them for this and their customer service! Best of all if you're living in a motorhome or van and have Amazon Prime, you can get most items delivered to the amazon lockers that’s closest to your current park-up! Result!
Ambassador
I work closely with selected companies and brands, showcasing and using products I've tested and am confident in. I am a proud ambassador for the following companies:
Eco Tree Lithium Batteries and BlueFix Energy Solutions
I moved over to lithium batteries after being on lead acids for almost 4 years and I’ve got to say, I've never looked back. Particularly for full-time living, I love not having battery anxiety.
If you're looking to get a quote or more information about your own lithium install, I can recommend the guys at BlueFix Energy Solutions. They exclusively use Eco Tree batteries and have made upgrades to my install (originally carried out by the amazing Oaktree Motorhomes).
Email bluefix@theurbanmotorhome.com and I will put you in touch with the BlueFix team! If you then go ahead with an install, you will get a discount you can ONLY get through me
EcoFlow Power Bank
Power banks, power generators, whatever you call them, I've tried pretty much all of them! I've been using EcoFlow products for over 2 years and I wouldn't choose any other now. The build of them plus the rapid recharge time is spot on. I exclusively only use EcoFlow now and am more than happy to recommend them to others
Essentials
Expanding Hose
Having at least 50ft of expandable hose is a must for campsites, pubs, garages etc etc
Carbon Monoxide Alarm
FireAngel are highly trusted in this space and this, along with a smoke alarm, are 100% A MUST!
Smoke Alarm
FireAngel smoke alarm, without a doubt every van and motorhome has to have one!
Steering Lock
I've used one of these since day one. It's a great visual deterrent for opportunistic thieves looking for a 'quick nick' as well as being power tool resistant so thieves can't cut through it.
Solbio
Solbio has been a game changer. It's all natural so there are no nasty chemicals meaning no staining if you spill any and it's safe if you, or your children or pets, come in to contact with it. It also means you can empty it in to any elsan point, even septic tanks.
Shark handheld vacuum Some say you don't *need* a cordless vacuum in a motorhome but I disagree. For getting crumbs, dust and debris up from all manner of crevices and surfaces, you can't go wrong with a vacuum + attachments! I do love me a clean floor!
Kärcher 5 Plus Window Vac
These are flipping brilliant, great for de-misting the front windows in the winter. It's also great for cleaning windows and mirrors. I just take a damp cloth or sponge, wipe the windows and mirrors over and then vac them dry with the Kärcher!
Gadgets & Electricals
NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 Router
I can't lie, this router has been the mutt's nuts since I upgraded to it. Of course, this is a high speed router which, for some, may be a little much. I need this for uploading/downloading to YouTube but its also great for streaming and keeping my cameras running on a stable network. This is a solid option for those that also rely heavily on stable Wi-Fi (which most of us do nowadays!)
Blink Video Doorbell Cameras
I've got a couple of these outside the motorhome, they act as great CCTV! Even better, they have audio so I can safely see AND hear what's going on outside.
EE 5G unlimited SIM card
This is the SIM card I have for the motorhome. It was a top tip given to me ages ago and it makes sense! Buying the prepaid SIM means you lock in your price for the duration of the prepaid plan, boom!
Dual rotating Fans
These have got quite a kick to them, just what you need in the summer months. Personally I've attached velcro (linked below) to mine and stuck them to the wall to maximise airflow and give a nice cool breeze throughout the motorhome.
12v Extension Cable
It's not often you need one of these but when you do, they are a lifesaver!
BenQ GS50 1080p Wireless Portable Projector
Ok this one might seem a little bougie and full disclosure, I was sent this as part of a review campaign I did with BenQ in the spring. But I still wanted to include it because if its something that is within your budget, its so worth it. I've used this both inside and outside of the motorhome. In the summer, it was fantastic when a bunch of us sat round watching the rugby outside with a BBQ on the go!
Outdoor, Camping & BBQ
Collapsable BBQ and Fire Pit
These are great; small, lightweight and really durable. I remember once I was cooking pork scratchings on this and measured the temperature of the fire - it was over 500C!
Large Folding Table
This table has been nicknamed the CEO table at meetups because its so big yet it folds down to a reasonable size. Now I've had a table this big, I wouldn't go smaller at. Its multipurpose as its great for working or socialising outside. When BBQing, its always the go-to for laying everything out, I love it!
Folding Camping Chair
Love this chair, it's super comfortable and folds compact enough for the garage. Even better, it holds me absolutely fine!
12v Heated Seat Cushion
Now this is a GAME CHANGER for cold nights round the campfire! Need I say more?
Campsite Cable Splitter
A handy little gadget to keep for those random times you'll need it.
Campsite Power Cable
Even though it's rare I hook up anymore I still carry a 25 meter power cable just incase I or someone else needs it.
Kitchen
AMZCHEF Single Induction Cooker
I've pretty much moved over to all electric cooking now and its brilliant. Not only does it heat up quicker but, best of all, it effectively means I'm cooking on free energy! Even in the winter, because I am driving a lot of the time, I am regenerating my leisure batteries meaning I have power to cook straight off of my power install
COSORI Air Fryer 4.7L
If you've watched my YouTube videos, you will undoubtedly heard me talk about my beloved air fryer. It is easily my number 1 cooking gadget now. It's so convenient, I can cook one meal, batch cook items (like boiled eggs, yes really!) and again, I'm cooking with free energy. I also run this off of my bigger EcoFlow, meaning I can cook outside with it too.
Ice Maker
This one may seem a little on the bougie side again but I will tell you this - I used to get taken the Mickey out of when I first bought an ice maker. And yet in the middle of summer, whose van did everyone come to asking for ice for their drinks? Yep, mine! Haha, it was a hell of an investment, probably one of my favourite kitchen gadgets. They don't sell my exact one anymore but browse the selection and find one suitable for you, you won't regret it!
Super Sparrow Stainless Steel Water Bottles
These Super Sparrow water bottles are brilliant. They are lightweight but also insulated so they keep cold drinks coooold and hot drinks hot! I personally use the 750ml one as my every day bottle.
You can view the range of Super Sparrow bottles on Amazon here
Folding Bin
Every motorhome and van needs a bin but there's nothing worse than a big clunky in-the-way bin so that's why I got this one.
Zip Lock Mason Jars
These are a great saving space solution for things like spices, salt, pepper and herbs in the motorhome. Plus, they save on weight. I saved 1.7kgs on jars!
Food Flask
I use this 500ml food flask in the winter all the time. It's perfect for if I'm cooking up food to save for later or take out somewhere. When I drove lorries, it was ideal to take to work in the truck for a warm lunch on the go.
1.8L Flask
This beauty is ideal for saving some extra hot water for later. It's especially good for making a quick cup of tea later on, no need to reboil the kettle! Boil a flask full once and use it all day, saving you gas/electric (depending how you boil your kettle)
Tefal FR701640 Oleoclean Compact Deep Fat Fryer
Ok this is my latest cooking toy and I absolutely love it. I first saw a friend with one at a festival and couldn't believe they had a mini deep fat fryer. Then they shared the breaded chicken they cooked with me and OH MY! I knew I had to get one. My chicken wings have elevated a level for sure!
Odds & Sods
Heavy Duty Velcro
This stuff is the FREAKING BEST! It can hold upto 7kg and I've used it for everything in the motorhome as it doesn't cause any permanent damage. I've attached my whiteboard, pictures and tv remotes to the wall and they've never fallen off!
Car Phone Holder for CD Slot
This is great if you have an 'old school' aftermarket stereo head unit like I do in the motorhome, one that has a CD slot. Thats a Compact Disc slot for you young'uns. This fits in to that slot and can then hold a phone or tablet, great for when you're using a phone as a sat nav or streaming music to your stereo.
Solar & Batteries
Rigid Solar Panels
I’ve currently got 2 x 305 watt rigid panels on my roof. I did start with flexi-panels but out of the 5 I had, 4 died! I will only go with rigid panels from now because of this. I don't have the exact details for my panels but they were fitted as part of my setup.
If you are looking for your own set up, get in contact at bluefix@theurbanmotorhome.com and I can pass your details on to Blue Fix Energy Solutions. Remember, if you go ahead with any install, you get a discount only available through me!
Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT
The EPIC brain behind my solar system that keeps me running off grid! Mines 100/15A
30 amp DC to DC Charger (Battery to Battery)
Another amazing bit of kit from victron giving me up to 30 amps from my alternator while i'm driving along.
Victron Energy MultiPlus 3000w Inverter
I've personally got this MultiPlus inverter and combined smart charger. It's an amazing bit of kit and I've had no issues.
