First post lockdown vanlife show of 2021!

The first, post lockdown vanlife show of 2021 was mad!!

If you’ve never heard of the International Campervan and Adventure Overland show, where have you been?

It was my first time

Alright, I’ll be honest, I hadn't been before. But I got the opportunity to be in the Youtuber village when the show came back after lockdown.

The show sounded wicked so I said hell yeah! I have a few friends that have been before, when it was just the Adventure Overland show, and they always enjoyed it.

Go hard or go home

I arrived the day before the show started, on the Thursday. By the time I began vlogging on Saturday morning, my voice was already wrecked.

I know what you’re thinking, but it wasn't just partying that did that!

Ok, we were up until about one o'clock on Friday night.

Some of the vehicles at the show were mad!

But it was so busy during the day with people coming to day hello and speak to us all parked in the village. And then I was up at 7 o'clock Saturday morning flying the drone!

Always have emergency bacon

It was all good though, Steve (Roaming Radfords) had the Cadac out.

Beautiful - I ran and grabbed a pack of bacon out of my motorhome, you should always have emergency bacon! Steve served up the bacon rolls and we were ready to, er, roll for the day.

Socialising after so long

It was MAD seeing people again. We’d been locked up for so long.

It was strange at first to be honest but it didn’t take long to feel at ease in everyone's company

Just do it. Don't wait. Time is precious and freedoms are fragile

The one thing everyone agreed on and that came out of COVID was: whatever you want to do, you should do it.Things can get taken away from you just like that.

You want to go see something? You want to go do something? You want to go explore somewhere? Just do it. Don't wait. Time is precious and freedoms are fragile

It was so fun to be back out. So fun to be seeing people and meeting everyone. Someone even brought me some pork belly and some chicken wings.

Escaping to see the show

The first chance I got to have a look around was in the evening on Saturday. It was funny because my voice sounded like I hadn’t hit puberty yet.

The show was jam packed with stuff to see (watch the video here) There were even hot air balloons in the sky!

Sunday morning came and it was tipping it down. We were lucky the YouTuber village was on hardstanding.

Me with the Roaming Radford's, Tash from Life Beyond Bricks and Hopes Freedom

The rain gave us a breather, we were all parked up near the grandstand which was good because Friday and Saturday we were swamped!

Hugely grateful to all subscribers

I’m not complaining, so grateful to everyone that came and said hi and got a sticker! I never expect it, none of us do.

Some find the YouTube areas a bit much but imagine if we were all parked in the field and so many people come through.

It wouldn't be fair on everyone around us as they would get no peace and they probably wouldn't like that!

It was brilliant, I was parked up with Tash & Jon from Life Beyond Bricks (the trouble maker from Portsmouth), Dave from One Man & his Whippet, the sticker man himself, Steve from The Roaming Radfords, Emily and Louise from Campervibe, Meg and Cal from Flora and the Novice Explorers and John and Mandy.

End of the show, start of something bigger

By Sunday evening, everyone had started to wind down. The show had finished, People were going home and people were packing up.

It's been so good to get back out. The first meet up at 2021 and it was a Corker!

So many people came out and has such a good time. Great conversations, great laughs, great giggles, good food and just amazing company.

You know, the first show of 2021 really set a precedent! Vanlife shows had never been so good since this post lockdown come back
